1) Mrs Soo Kim Bee

(Chief Judge)

Master Teacher

ELIS, MOE
Mrs Soo Kim Bee is a Master Teacher with the English Language Institute of Singapore (ELIS). Starting her career as a teacher in the classroom, she has since held various appointments in the Ministry of Education, as a Specialist Inspector for English and Literature, a Gifted Education curriculum officer, and more recently, a Senior Specialist in the Gifted Education Branch, Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD), MOE. She was also an External Examiner for the Diploma RSA, with The British Council. She previously served as President of the Society for Reading and Literacy (SRL) for three terms, receiving a long service award in 2005. She currently serves on the Executive Council of the Singapore Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (Singapore ASCD). At ELIS, she enjoys working together with teachers in their classrooms to enhance the teaching and learning of the English Language.
 

2) Lionel Ch’ng
Managing Director
HP Inc
As the Managing Director of the Printing and Personal Systems Group (PPS) for HP Singapore, Lionel is responsible for the growth, business performance and market penetration of the PPS business. He also leads the Singapore team in driving the channel & portfolio strategy in its implementation across all enterprise and commercial-consumer channels. Prior to this role, Lionel was responsible for delivering HP’s innovation to consumers at home, at work and on the go in the consumer GTM across APJ. Lionel’s primary focus was in partnering for growth with key retailers in the consumer channel through retail and shopper innovation. This includes leading the consumer sales go-to-market team along with trade marketing for the region. Lionel has been in the consumer business throughout his career, having built his experience in P&G, Maxis, Nokia and Samsung in country and also in the region. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his MBA from the University of Bath.
 

3) Dr Jessie Png

Assistant Dean, Practicum
National Institute of Education (NIE)
Dr. Jessie Png is a Senior Lecturer, and Assistant Dean of Practicum and School Partnerships. She teaches methodology courses to student teachers/in-service teachers in the primary programme. She has taught teachers from the Madrasahs (Singapore) and Dalian (China), and designed teaching packages for teacher-educators in Indonesia and Bahrain. Prior to joining the National Institute of Education, she was a school teacher for over twenty years.
 

4) Dr Jo-Ann Shek

Lecturer

National Institute of Education (NIE)
Jo-Ann was a secondary school teacher in specialized school programmes as the Special Assistance Plan (SAP) and Gifted Education Programme. She then contributed to the Singapore education scene in her capacity as a curriculum specialist at the Ministry of Education (Singapore) in The Thinking Programme and Project Work Unit. She is currently at the National Institute of Education (Singapore) as a lecturer primarily working with beginning primary school teachers.
 

5) Mr R. Alan Davis

Curriculum Consultant
McGraw-Hill Education
R. Alan Davis is currently a curriculum consultant for McGraw-Hill Education in Singapore. He has over 20 years of experience in English education and training which includes curriculum design, online instruction, and project design, implementation and management. He has worked in Australia, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.  He led countrywide training programs in Thailand and the United Arab Emirates for primary and secondary teachers. He earned a degree in Anthropology from the University of Washington and a Masters in TESOL from the University of Technology, Sydney.  His primary interests include brain-based education, creativity, student engagement and the use of technology in education.
